I make products with teams, and the systems that keep us honest.

Senior UX designer with a development background, leading IA and navigation strategy at enterprise scale. Valuable early, when the problem is still vague, and valuable later, when someone has to decide what the components actually do.

About

I came to UX from development, and it still shows in how I work. I like being in the room when problems are still fuzzy, helping the team frame it and decide what's worth building. I'm also comfortable in the pattern library or repo - reading the component, checking what a token change actually breaks, and prototyping interactions instead of describing them.

Away from the screen I'm with my wife and sons on a baseball field, playing or coaching, out on the water or a trail, or elbow deep in whatever house project is currently underway. I was born and raised in Canada, lived for 13 years in sunny San Diego, now call Seattle home.

Health Solutions Migration

Nuance's healthcare products had to land on Microsoft.com as Health Solutions on a fixed date. I helped lead the UX for the migration, the rebrand, and the Dragon Copilot launch.

Nuance Design System

Nuance.com was running on Bootstrap with no formalized design system layered on top. I founded one and deliberately shaped it to Microsoft's conventions, so the coming integration wouldn't turn it into throwaway work.

Broadacre Design System

Featuring Hypesite

Concur.com had no shared design system. I led the effort to build one, from an unfunded audit to a governed, funded system shipping components to production.

Digital Tool Framework

I owned the design of one reusable system behind 53 interactive assessments and calculators, localized into 26 markets. Instead of building each tool from scratch, marketing could launch new ones on a shared framework and see roughly 10x the conversion of other on-site paths.
